("PetKit," "we," "us") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our mobile app, smart feeders and trackers, website, and related services (together, the "Services"). It applies to pet owners, household members with shared access, and visitors to petkit.com.By creating a PetKit account or using our Services, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services — we'd rather be upfront than bury the details.

Every use ties back to running, securing, or improving the Services.

Operate core features: schedule feedings, sync device data, and display your pet’s activity history.
Personalize feeding and health recommendations based on your pet’s profile and history.
Process payments, ship hardware orders, and manage warranty claims.
Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
Send service notifications (low food, offline device) and, if you opt in, product news.

Cookies & tracking technologies

What we use on petkit.com and in the app, and how to turn each off.

Our website and app use cookies, SDKs, and similar technologies for four purposes: keeping you signed in (essential), remembering preferences (functional), understanding usage patterns (analytics), and, only with consent, measuring marketing performance (advertising).

You can manage cookie preferences through the banner shown on your first visit, or anytime via the “Privacy Choices” link in the site footer. Blocking essential cookies may prevent core features, like staying logged in, from working.

How we Share Your Information

We don’t sell your data. Here’s who we do share it with.

Service providers— payment processors, cloud hosting, shipping carriers, and customer support tools, bound by contract to protect your data.
Household membersyou invite to co-manage a pet’s profile, limited to what you choose to share with them.
Veterinary partners, only if you explicitly connect your account to a clinic or telehealth service.
Legal & safety— when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.
Business transfers— if PetKit is acquired or merges, data may transfer as part of that deal, under this same policy.

Data Security

How we protect what you share with us.

We encrypt data in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest, restrict internal access on a need-to-know basis, and run regular security testing including third-party penetration tests. Devices authenticate with rotating tokens, and payment details are handled entirely by our PCI DSS–certified processor — PetKit never stores full card numbers.

No system is completely immune to risk. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we’ll notify you and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. After you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we’re required to retain it for legal, tax, or security purposes.

Your Right and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
Export your data in a portable format.
Object to or restrict certain kinds of processing.
Withdraw consent for optional communications at any time.

International Data Transfer

PetKit operates globally, and your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use approved safeguards — such as standard contractual clauses — to protect information transferred internationally.

Change to this Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or through a notice within PetKit before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent update.
